THANKS FOR STOPPING BY :D
Iceland is the country where I was born and raised. It is an island in the North-Atlantic ocean 103.000 km2 in size, with only ca 332.529 inhabitants (January 2016), so we have a lot of space. Reykjavík is our capital, the northernmost capital in the world and that is where I live. Ca 63% of the nation lives in the Great-Reykjavík area in the South-west corner of Iceland, or 205.470 (in 2013). In Reykjavík alone we have 122.460 inhabitants (January 2016).
In ca 874 Vikings from Norway came to Iceland and settled here. On their way they kidnapped people from Ireland so our heritage is Norwegian and Celtic. I have added an album here on my homepage of both my Norwegian Viking and Irish heritage. Iceland is a volcanic island often called the land of ice and fire. Have a look at my pictures and tips on my country, most of the tips are under Iceland.
If you want to see geysers, 800 hot springs and mud pots, 10.000 waterfalls, 15 active volcanos, the Northern lights, bathe in the Blue lagoon, go whale-watching, see the habitats of the elves and trolls, cross the Arctic circle, walk in the rift of the tectonic plates, cross the bridge from Europe to America, visit the sites of the Vikings, see the sun at midnight, see 11.500 square kilometers of glaciers up close, taste fermented shark, see vast lava fields, see 10.000.000 puffins and get to know Icelandic people* then do pay us a visit :D
Here is an excellent webpage, which is the biggest platform on travel services in Iceland - Guide to Iceland.

Thanks so much Regina... for accepting my friend request
:D
Hi Regina, My wife and I are coming to Reykjavik around Xmas, just for 2 full days. Planning on the usual, Blue Lagoon, bus tour of national park/northern lights. Do you think the weather will be to extreme or business as usual?
I hear you. Kind of a stupid question now looking back. Thanks
Haha, no problem, there might be a pattern in the weather, which only we locals know about, so this is not a stupid question.
Thanks for your answer to 'whale watching'. I appreciate your advice.
Thank you, I hope you get to see some whales on your tour :)
Thanks for your answer to 'Initial Questions for October end tour'. I appreciate your advice.
You are welcome :)
Hello, me and the wife are planning to visit Iceland late September for 2 weeks.. idea is to take it slow and savour the country and culture.. your guidance is appreciated Thanks
Thank you David and Regina. Yes going through your pages.. although idea is not to be a typical tourist but meant an apartment, savour the country and immerse with 2 weeks of stay...
You can find an apartment in Iceland on Airbnb. I also write for Guide to Iceland and have several new articles there which I haven't had time yet to post on VT guidetoiceland.is/connect-wi...
Thank you so very much dear Regina for visiting my Kingsburg page. It was the coffee pot water tower that got our attention and ended up exploring the town more. Thank you again!
My pleasure - yes, the coffee pot water tower is cool :)
Hi Regina! Congratulations to Iceland! I bet the celebrations in Reykjavik after tonight's football result are wonderful. :)
Haha, lovely to hear :)
When they come home they surely deserve a decoration from the Icelandic Foreign Ministry and the International football association alike – sports fans who knew nothing about Iceland now follow the country’s team, while people who never watch sports - like me - now know at least something about football.
We love your page! Our quandary is that we have only five nights in Iceland next month (we got a campervan) and have to decide where to spend our other two nights (we are spending 2 nights in Vik and 1 in Hofn. Any thoughts?
Thank you very much, we so looking forward to Iceland.
You are welcome - have a lovely time in Iceland :)
