Your VT Rank is your overall rank as a tip maker, travel forum helper, and deal poster within the VT community. Your rank is based solely on the ratings that your tips, travel forum replies, and deals receive. While ratings and rank are mostly a fun, semi-serious way to interact with VT friends and to chart your progress, they also help to give a rough indication of where you might be likely to find helpful information. Additionally, it gives a thumbs up to great community members for sharing tips and deals, and helping others. Please keep in mind that the rankings are approximate and are mostly for fun.

We use a complex formula that rewards high quality tips and deals, in all categories, and across all locations. The best way to ensure high ratings is to post tips and deals that are thorough, helpful and accurate.

VT Rank is based solely on ratings that your tips, travel forum replies, and deals receive. VT Ratings and Rankings places the highest value on the quality of each individual tip or deal.

VT does not divulge the exact nature of the rating or ranking algorithms in order to discourage fraud. Rating patterns are analyzed and fraud behavior is red flagged. Members attempting to fraudulently affect ratings and rankings will have their ratings ignored, and if the attempted fraud persists, will have their memberships removed.

Yes! The quality of your tips, deals, and travel forum postings is more important than how long you have been a member. Also, anyone who has been a VT member for less than a year gets a Rookie Ranking

A Rookie Rank is given to members who joined VT less than a year ago. 'Rookie' is a term usually used in sports that refers to a new player who is in this first year of the league. VT Members can have both a Rookie Rank and an overall VT Rank.

Just click on Meet Members and then click Top Members.

You can see your VT Rank on your homepage next to your picture and along with your info like name and hometown. If you don't see a VT Rank yet, that means you haven't gotten a rating yet. Just share some inside info about your travels and as folks rate your info you'll see your progress.
