The URL of your Member Homepage is: http://members.virtualtourist.com/YOURMEMBERNAME
1. How Do I Get To My Homepage? Just click the 'Your Homepage' link at the top of the VT page when you are logged in. You must be a VT Member to get a homepage. Membership is fast, easy and 100% Free. 2. How Do I Add My Member Picture? Simply Click the 'add a picture ' link in your passport. From there you'll be able to add a member picture so that others can get to know you. Your picture personalizes forum postings, email, and other features. People are much more inclined to rate tips, correspond with, and make friends when they can see who they're talking to. 3. Do I Have to Add a Member Picture? You are not required to add a member pic, but adding one makes it much more likely that people will contact you, rate your tips and make friends with you. It helps to personalize your pages and introduce yourself. 4. How Do I Change the Stats in My 'Passport'? To change things like your Birthday, Real Name, Hometown and Picture, just click the link 'Settings' at the top of the page when you are logged in and enter your changes. Don't forget to save your changes. 5. What Kind of Member Picture Should I Add? Since your member pic gets shown in smaller scale when you post in the forum or send email, a Member pictures that clearly shows your face is the best. 6. Ugghh. Do I Really Have to Add My Birthday? You're not required to add your birthday, but sharing your birthday makes it easier for people to recommend things that might be more of interest to you. For example, if you're 18, you're probably not interested in family friendly restaurants for your kids and if you're 65 you're probably not interested in getting inside tips on rave parties. If you're absolutely uncomfortable sharing your age, then just share your birthday. You'll meet lots of new friends who just stopped in to wish you a happy birthday when the day arrives. Yep, VT'ers are a friendly bunch. 7. What Does The Map Show? The map shows all the places that you've visited or that you're planning a trip to. Click the map to bring you to a list of all your locations and travel pages. |
