 | New York City Halloween Parade Reviews | Tips 1 - 5 of 5 | | Halloween is a HUGE holiday in NYC. The parade down 6th Avenue is a must see for anyone in the city that night or anyone who has never seen it. The costumes are fantastic and show the creativity of our population. I always have a large party (80-100 guests) and this year I went as a Goth Shemale Flasher,, you can guess the details. Leave a Comment |
I recently found out you can actually be in the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade. If you visit the following link, you may register and show up to be a participant. I chose to be a pupeteer for one of the large puppets. The Village Halloween Parade is one of the coolest parades I have ever been to. If your in NYC on October 31st, it's a must see. |
When in New York, the parade is great... but sometimes you need some indoor attractions to look forward to. There are a bunch of other wild events in NYC that capture all of the weirdness, splendor, and eye candy of the holiday. My recommendation is the Annual Masquerade at The Museum of Sex. This year, it is Friday night, the 28th. They recommend you come in costume, but do provide some masks at the door for anyone without an outfit. For $30 in advance ($35 at the door), you get an open bar, food, DJ, after-hours tour of the museum (that is usually like $15-20 to get into), and a goodie bag. It is so easy to meet people when you are enjoying cocktails and surrounded by exhibits on sex--it really breaks the ice.
