Almost area of Nakhon Ratchasima is plateau but at Wang Nam Khieo District is different, most of the land are mountaineous, a lot scene of mountain and the weather very cold in winter. A lot Thais like to go to the north in winter to feel the cold and see beautiful fog cover range of mountains in the morning. But here we have it in Wang Nam Khieo so no need to travel so far to the North… Wang Nam Khieo is about a border district of Nakhon Ratchasima, around 80 Km from central of the province. In cool season at Wang Nam Khieo, it is very cold ( I mean cold in tropical country ) so many people like to visit resorts on mountain or visit national park or somewhere in higher land to camping. It’s a very popular activity. Many resorts in Wang Nam Khieo change the area to be campsite and I saw some campsites, well as on photo, they set tents too close and too crowded. I couldn’t feel camping that way but enjoy the view, the cold and beautiful fog cover range of mountain in the early morning anyway. Leave a Comment |

The dam is an earth-filled dam across the Lam Takhong River that flows through a crevasse. Built in 1974, its primary purpose was to divert water from above the dam for irrigation. Visitors can walk on the dam to enjoy the view of the reservoir with a beautiful background of mountains. The dam is suitable for relaxation when it is not hot. It is open during 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Anyway people who travel to the northeast part in any provinces can see the great view of Lam Takhong Dam from the highway in the area border between Pakchong District and Sikhio District, the view is about 1 Km along the highway.
