My girlfriend and I enjoyed a horse and carriage ride from the town of Guardalavaca to our hotel, the Sirenis Playa Turquesa, during our visit in November 2011. The 15km journey was undertaken at a leisurely pace, taking around 90 minutes to complete. En route we took in the beautiful scenery and surrounding countryside. We should have haggled with the carriage driver, but we accepted his 30 CUC (18 GBP) price without arguing. A taxi would have cost much less (12 CUC) and would have completed the journey in a fraction of the time (15 minutes) - but it wouldn't have been half as much fun!
