Barely a few metres from the Somnath temple is Treveni Sangam Snanghat, the confluence of the three holy rivers, Hiran, Kapila and Saraswati and their merging with the Arabian Sea. This is a very sacred place for the Hindus who bathe here to cleanse themselves of their sins. A few boats are around with touts wanting to take you for a 15-minutes’ ride further into the sea. There’s no need for that. And if you don’t know swimming, don’t venture out into the sea. The boats are rudimentary and the safety norms appalling.
