"Taking Watermelons to Market" Isla Indio del Perù Video by GrumpyDiver

About 140 km upstream from Iquitos is Muyuna Jungle Lodge, an Eco-lodge that is reached by boat up the Yanuyacu River (a Tributary of the Amazon). Returning from a trip on the Amazon, we ran into a group of farmers who were floating their crop of watermelons down to the Amazon. There they would sell them to one of the many boats heading down the Amazon to Iquitos, where the watermelons would be sold at one of the markets.
