This beautiful endangered adult Cassowary was spotted along the busy Bruce Highway 10klms south of Tully Township looking for food. It's usual rainforest habitat was destroyed by cyclone Yasi 2011.We reported the sighting to wildlife and hopefully it will be moved away from danger. It is always sad when they are run over by speeding traffic.
After flying the VT flag this is how quick the water rose.I had to stop filming because we had to protect our house from flooding--it got to our back step and into the tracks on our doors--we worked hard to push it back and luckily we were able to--our friends down the road weren't that lucky--poor people.
What heartbreak for our friends who live down the road.Yes,Cairns residents have been through lots of drama too as this video will show.No volunteers to help them clean up--so we arranged a working bee to help clean up before any flood type diseases had a chance to get hold.We are all in shock but are alive. They have two rooms upstairs to live in--and will come to our place for showers and meals etc.
Well!! here I was filming this humungous aftermath storm thing of VT and doing my best to video what I could. I must really be a VT fanatic haha.I was thinking of you all,so this is for you--listen to the vt mention.
