During our day trip from Tbilisi to northern Armenia in February 2013, we had lunch at a family-run roadside eatery.
The simple restaurant, with a dining table in an old railroad carriage and an outdoor barbecue, was located beside the road between Haghpat and Akhtala.
This short video shows our host cooking our khorovats (Armenian barbecue) lunch. The skewers contain pork and potatoes. As well as the barbecued foods, we were also treated to a spread of bread, dips, cheeses, salad, pickled homegrown vegetables and yoghurt.
