Vietnam's traffic is, well, adventurous. When I lived there from 2004 to 2005 it took me quite some time to get used to it, but eventually I was brave enough to ride a motorbike myself and started cruising the streets of this exciting city. Here's a video that shows you how the traffic looks like from a motorcyclist's perspective. (Credits to Blaise who drove while I was filming!)
April 11, 2012, before the lens is the scene at the wharf Yen, Huong Pagoda. As you see, most are not passenger boat trips, boat trips occasionally have to Trinh temple with few visitors, foreign visitors are also still to Huong pagoda at this time. This is actually consistent with the time travelers preferred the quiet, open space. (post by http://www.alovietnamvisa.com)
Check out the (lack of) traffic control at intersections! Everyone just GOES! (Or doesn't go, as in the case of the chick who parked her scooter in the crosswalk). People crossing against the main flow of traffic just kinda go through the stream of cross traffic.
