Stari Grad by night SWFC_Fan, Herceg-Novi Date Added: Jun 9, 2012

This short video was taken in Herceg Novi's old town (Stari Grad) in May 2012.

It was our first evening in the city and we were exploring the quiet streets and squares late at night.

The video features the square of Trg Nikole Durkovica with its outdoor cafes and the famous Clock Tower.

Plaza Rafaelo in Topla SWFC_Fan, Herceg-Novi Date Added: Jun 9, 2012

Plaza Rafaelo, located in Topla, a short walk from Herceg Novi in the direction of Igalo, was one of the better public beaches that we found during our visit in May 2012.

Both the beach and the sea were clean and there were plenty of nearby restaurants with good seafood and seaviews.

We had just eaten lunch at the seaside taverna of Konoba Kruso when I took this short video from a small pier in the sea.

This short video was taken during our stay in Herceg Novi in May 2012.

We paid 1 Euro each to enter Kanli Kula fortress, allowing us to walk around its walls and admire the panoramic views over Stari Grad and along the coastline towards Igalo in one direction and deeper into the Bay of Kotor in the other.

We visited Sveti Stefan as a day trip in May 2012.

We caught a bus from Herceg Novi to Budva, then caught another bus which dropped us off on the main road overlooking Sveti Stefan.

After admiring the remarkable panoramic views of the famous islet of Sveti Stefan (which now houses a luxurious hotel resort) we made the steep downhill walk to the public beach that features in this video.

I must say that Sveti Stefan looks much better from high above than it does at sea level. The beach was nothing remarkable; it was very pebbly and overlooked by fairly bland apartment blocks. It perhaps looks better on a sunny day; we were unfortunately there on a day that was littered with heavy thunderstorms.

We walked along the beach until it became an enclosed private beach (belonging to the Aman Resort that now owns the islet) close to the isthmus that connects the islet to the mainland. The beach here was much tidier and, despite the fact that there was nobody on it, was guarded by a handful of security staff.

This short video was taken in the sea at Igalo.

We had walked there, along the seaside promenade of Setaliste Pet Danica, from the neighbouring town of Herceg Novi.

The sea at Igalo contains therapeutic mud and we had read online that the locals come here to cover themselves in mud for free rather than pay for such treatments at the nearby health centre!

We were there on a quiet and overcast afternoon, so we had the small beach almost to ourselves. The sea is shallow - you can walk for hundreds of metres without it ever getting deeper than knee height.

This short video was taken from on top of the Citadel in Budva during our day trip to the town in May 2012.

We paid 2 Euros to enter the Citadel and were rewarded with breathtaking views over Stari Grad and Town Beach and further afield to Slovenska Beach and the island of St Nikola.

Our Lady of the Rock ("Gospa od Skrpjela") is one of two small islands that lie off the coast of Perast in the Bay of Kotor, Montenegro.

We visited the island briefly in May 2012 as part of a boat trip from Herceg Novi.

The small islet of Sveti Stefan is one of the most recognisable sights in Montenegro. It is the image that first came to my mind when we booked our trip to Montenegro in May 2012.

The islet now houses a luxurious and exclusive hotel resort, so no venturing across the isthmus for non-guests. That's not a problem though - Sveti Stefan is one of those places that looks better from a distance than it does up close. The best view, in my opinion, is from the roadside high above the beach.

I took this short video from the roadside after we had alighted our bus from nearby Budva.

Lepetane to Kamenari ferry SWFC_Fan, Lepetani Date Added: Jun 8, 2012

The ferry that makes the 5 minute journey between Lepetane and Kamenari is incredibly useful as it cuts out the need to drive all the way along the northern coast of the Bay of Kotor.

We made use of the ferry when travelling back from Tivat to Herceg Novi in May 2012.

As foot passengers, there was no charge to us for using the ferry - it was free!

This short video was taken on board the ferry as we left Lepetane.

Sailing into Perast (part 2)` SWFC_Fan, Perast Date Added: Jun 8, 2012

During our visit to Montenegro in May 2012, we undertook a boat trip around the Bay of Kotor with a company called "Pajo".

The boat trip departed from Igalo at 10am, calling at neighbouring Herceg Novi at 10:10am. We first visited the island of "Our Lady of The Rock" off the coast of Perast, before sailing to the town of Kotor and returning to visit Perast late in the afternoon.

This short video was taken as we approached the beautiful town of Perast; even the heavy rain couldn't spoil the views of this tiny town that is set spectacularly between the sea and the mountains!

This short video was taken during our day trip to Budva in May 2012.

We were standing on a small pier in the sea off Town Beach, looking towards the old town, Stari Grad, and the walls of the Citadel.

The heavy rain had just stopped falling and the clouds soon gave way to a sunny afternoon.

This bar usually opens in the early afternoon playing soft ambient music type Cafe Del Mar and up tempo dance music at the weekend evenings during the season. With cushions laid out for seating and comfortable furniture, the perfect spot to enjoy the panorama below.

Daytime Mala Plaza is a sea of people, mostly families congreating on wooden sun beds and sun umbrellas. After dark the beach is empty but the road and sea wall is teething with life, usually young groups of girls or boys just strolling up and down like some sort of ancient mating rite..If your a PEOPLE WATCHING fan, this is fantastic free entertainment.

Biogradska Gora, the smallest of four National Parks in Montenegro, contains great diversity of flora and fauna. Its virgin forest, Biogradska Gora (16 km²) with trees over five hundred years old makes this national park unique. In the very heart of Biogradska's virgin forest is Biogradsko Lake, the largest glacier lake in this National park. More info and videos on iwitnessdestinations.com/montenegro

Imagine a sandy beach 12 km long in the Adriatic sea, near the river Buna, with a beautiful landscape, with unforgettable sunsets, the beach from were you can see the mountains of Italy, Otranto and Albania... This place exists. It was created by God on a town which was baptized by people with the name Dulcigno (Ulcinj).
Now, it is on the man who have to transform it to the paradise. There is a man with the idea and references in the field of tourism, who have worked all around the world. He came back in his beach-on his property -on the beach created by God where he has dreamed of the day when this place will become a famous tourist resort.
On 2002, with his consultants he has planned to start working on this “promised land” and to build the tourist complex Copacobana. He has succeed. He has build the first phase of infrastructure, pawed the road, cleaned the place, ... and the success came with the tourists who were fascinated with this place.
