A short clip from our gondola ride along the canals of Venice in October 2010.
We negotiated a price of 80 Euros for 6 of us for a gondola ride that lasted around 1 hour.
It may be cliched and it may be touristy, but going on a gondola in Venice is an absolute must. I loved every minute of it.
Is it overpriced? Not really. We were quoted higher prices from other gondoliers before we found one that was prepared to take us for 80 Euros. At a little over 13 Euros per person for an hour's ride, that's not bad value at all; I've paid more for non-descript taxi and train rides in many cities!
Be sure to take a gondola ride when you are in Venice!
For my 50th Birthday, 10 of us spent a weekend in Venice. We decided to arrive in style by Water Taxi from Marco Polo Airport. AS there were so many of us, it didn't work out much more than by water bus.
It was my first time in Venice and I really love the place, quiet amazing can't believe how the people build up the houses in the middle of the river. Had a great time there, we stayed in the town name Maestre (Hotel Piave). I wish to come back there..oneday!
