This short video was taken from the Tbilisi Cable Car during our visit to the Georgian capital in February 2013.
The cable car ride connects the riverside Rike Park with the hilltop Nariqala Fortress, passing over the Mtkvari river and offering excellent panoramic views of Metekhi Church, the ultra-modern Peace Bridge and the rooftops of the old town.
The lopsided and ornately decorated Clock Tower is located in Tbilisi's old town.
This short video was taken one evening during our visit in February 2013 as the clock struck 7:00pm.
First, an angel-like figure emerged onto a balcony at the top of the Clock Tower and struck the bell 7 times with a hammer.
Then a lullaby began to play and another window lower down the Clock Tower opened up and a series of characters were displayed moving around a carousel.
We witnessed the clock strike 3:00pm on another day. On that occasion, only the first stage of the display happened. The angel struck the bell three times, but the lower window with the other characters behind it never opened.
