Joey seems to be the leader of the pack. He was sleeping when we passed by,but came out to greet tourists when the zoo attendant called his name. When he is called,he expects fruits and veggies to be thrown at him.
The Arapaima/Piraracu is a member of the Arowana family, and is one of the largest freshwater fish in the world. The ones in Avilon Zoo are still young,so they range from about 1 1/2 to 2 meters long, but they can reach up to 3 meters when they grow older. For P10 worth of chicken heads, you can attract them to go up the water level and see them scramble for food. See how big their mouth is.
