Here's the National Guard returning the USS Constitution's salute. In the background is Fort Independence on Boston's Castle Island.

Every year, the famed warship from the War of 1812, the USS Constitution, turns around so it will weather evenly. Here is a video of the ship's cannon salute to Fort Independence. The return salute is in the next video.

Submitted for your approval... Socrates and Cassie playing with a cat-toy. Cassie provides the more frenetic activity, while Socrates merely waits for the toy to come to him...

Here's my feeble attempt at sports announcing. Obviously, I was quite distracted by what was going on around me... nevertheless, I will not quit my day job anytime soon.

Perhaps the most animated I saw the crowd (admittedly this isn't saying much) was during the playing of "YMCA" in the middle of the 6th Inning. Really, it seemed only the few folks in our section were into the game at all. Anyway, enjoy! 8)

Here's a view of us emerging from the tunnel and out into Yankee Stadium. Unfortunately, there were so many other fans in the entrance that I wasn't able to get a great shot of the field. That will come in Part 2. :)

Here's a section of the Manhattan Waterfront Greenway along the Hudson River. It's a bit inland relative to the rest of the path, but it's quite interesting to see such green space in a large city (and it isn't even Central Park!)

This is a view from the east stanchion (Brooklyn side) facing northward. A rather nice view of the Manhattan Bridge and Manhattan, I think.

This is a southward view from the east stanchion (Brooklyn side) of the Brooklyn Bridge. There's a nice view of the water taxi, but the Statue of Liberty didn't quite come in as well as I had hoped. Anyway, enjoy!

Sara and I recently moved to New York City, so we're spending some time getting to know our new home. Think of it as tourism without the hotel costs.
