The beach of Ausvika

Ausvika

Nor'sia- the Northern side of Bodø

The area stretching itself North of the town between Bodø and Kjerringøy offers a variety of scenery,
a winding road takes you to as well mountain landscapes, seahouses and beaches.
The most popular bathing spots on warm days are Geitvågen - which is always crowded as soon as the temperature reaches 20C. It gets slightly warmer in the sea there because they built an artificial bay -
and Ausvika, which has a free parking and besides is a perfect place to observe the midnight sun in summer nights.

Løp hovedgård

While driving this way, be sure to stop at the Løp hovedgård for coffee and their famous lemon cake in the garden, if the weather permits. . It's a fascinating old wooden building which takes you back to the old days of nobility.

Hi Marit, Thank you for your nice comment. I've never been to the north of Norway, and would like to discover it one day:-) Jeg skammer meg! Tenk, å ikke kjenne sitt eget land! Nydelig Bodø side!

We spent a night in Bodo on our way from the Lofoten but didn't have time for sightseeing there. Would love to see Saltstraumen, the medieval church and the little museum. So we will have to go back. Beautiful pictures and interesting tips.
