Hiking in the nature around Bodø

Often the most used hiking paths are marked with wooden signs like this one, but otherwise the nature is untouched.

Maskinisten

The peculiar name of one of the most popular places to go for a sunday trip.
There must have lived a machine engineer once.

Varde

Some places you'll find these little towers called "varde" where you can add a stone, just to say "I made it to the top. " The most famous place in the area is the Keiservarden (named after the German Kaiser Wilhelm's visit to Bodø. This picture was taken on the Løpsfjellet.

Hi Marit, Thank you for your nice comment. I've never been to the north of Norway, and would like to discover it one day:-) Jeg skammer meg! Tenk, å ikke kjenne sitt eget land! Nydelig Bodø side!

We spent a night in Bodo on our way from the Lofoten but didn't have time for sightseeing there. Would love to see Saltstraumen, the medieval church and the little museum. So we will have to go back. Beautiful pictures and interesting tips.
