<font face=microsoft sans serif><font color=mauve> The resort of Beaufort at a height of 409 m, with 1,400 inhabitants is embedded in a romantic landscape of woods and hills that has become famous as ‚The Little Switzerland of Luxembourg‘.<BR>Numerous footpaths lead from Beaufort to the picturesque valleys of Haupeschbach, Hallerbach, Black Ernz (Müllerthal) and the Sûre.<BR>Visit the sights of the impressive ruins of the medieval castle dating from the 12th C, the Renaissance manor from the 17th C still run today and the neo-gothic church. Beaufort has also developed a reputation for its Cherries and Cassis. |
<font face=microsoft sans serif><font color=mauve> Visit the castle in Beaufort built in 1200 on the remains of a roman castle and which was enlarged in 1500, 1550 and at the end of the 16th century. Next to this first building arose in 1640 a castle built in Renaissance style. The partially restored middle aged building can be visited.<BR> |
