We have season tickets for the Los Angeles Avengers. This is an Arena Football team that plays in the Arena Football League at the Satples Center in downtown Los Angeles For those not familiar with this type of football, it is played indoors on a basketball sized floor. The field is only 50 yards long and 20 yards wide. The teams have 9 players each and players play both ways. That means that they play offense and defense. Only the Quarterback and one defensive back are allowed to substitute. There are no punts and on fourth down the team with the ball must either try for a field goal or make a first down. The goal posts are only half as wide as NFL goalposts and twice as tall. There is a screen to either side and when a ball careens off of it, it is considered a live ball. That means that anyone who can pick it up can run with it. It is a really excting game and usually has high scores. The last game we went to had a final score of 77-63. Try the website. it is www.afl.com The league is partially owned by the NFL and is used as a developmental league similar to NFL Europe. This phot is me and my son Tanner. This was his first game. |
Carren and Tanner Here is my wife Carren and Tanner enjoying themselves at the game. I will add more pics of the game action after I scan them. |

Grantman Mon Apr 24, 2006 18:59 UTC Scalpers sell tickets near the Coliseum (not legal, be discreet!). A Trojan football game & tailgate parties is a beautiful day in L.A. The Downtown skyline and San Gabriel Mountains can be seen from some of the seats. Fight on! | USCgirlie Sun Apr 9, 2006 02:09 UTC Fight On!! | erikatheskysailor Sat Jan 1, 2005 20:27 UTC Very, very cool! :) I am in that 1% that saw the blimp up close. A few years ago, it was idling RIGHT OVER our driveway! If I had been on the roof, I may have been able to touch it! If only I had gotten photos! :( | karenincalifornia Fri Dec 10, 2004 22:29 UTC Interesting peak at LA and defintiely not the typical tourist spots. I used to live 10 min. away from the very first In N Out in Pasadena! Now it's one of the hottest hamburger joints in Marin! Good luck in Iraq. |
