The 'original' Classroomtravels

So sad to see the first group of classroomtravels move on from 1st Class. They did such a wonderful job as the first group of children to set up the classroomtravels VT page and they will be missed. This Album is a collection of some of their news, gossip, pics and mischief. O'Barney will miss his first set of shepherds and shepherdesses!!!

Irish Barney!!!

We have a new member of the Barney family! He arrived on Monday from VT headquarters in America and we think he came with President Obama on Airforce One because we got him on Tuesday and the President was here on Monday! We dressed Irish Barney up and it is a boy. His name is O'Barney and he is looking forward to meeting his brothers AussieBarney, AsiaBarney, EuroBarney, BarneyUK and AmericanBarney.
He is very shy but loves his new clothes. He is already great friends with Professor...our class teddy and Little Irwin from Australia. We have him in the class right now and he is going on his first trip to England with Abby next week even though we only got him yesterday. We are really lucky to have our own Barney - John Joe aged 7

The Newest Member of the Barney Family

Calling all Barney brothers all over the world. The newest member of the Barney family is O'Barney and he lives here in Ireland with us in our classroom. Congratulations AussieBarney, AsiaBarney, EuroBarney, BarneyUK and have a new brother and his name is O'Barney. I would like BarneyUK to know that O'Barney is coming to visit Luton next week on a trip with me and I can't wait to show him around. He is dressed up in a leprechaun jacket and has a big Irish hat! Thank you VT for sending Barney to live with us. Thank 'ewe' from everybody in classroomtravels. We are all really happy. Baa Baa - Abby aged 7

O'Barney has quickly made friends with our other travel friends in our class. We have had professor even before virtual tourist and he has taught us lots of interesting facts about the world and its different people, music, food, languages and traditions. He has also taught us how important it is to look after our world and environment.
Little Irwin is a new member of our family. He was sent to us by our friends AussieBarney and Marg (wise23girl) in Australia. He is named in memory of The Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin

O'Barney came with us on our School Tour this year. We went to visit some of his animal brothers and sisters at Fota Wildlife Park in Cork. We had a great day and saw animals like Giraffes, Cheetahs, Wombats, Monkeys, Seals and Lemurs. We also did a bug hunt and learnt about the insects living in our woodlands. We used pooters and quadrants to examine the insects and O'Barney helped!

A mobile farm came to visit us on Monday and we got to see lots of animals like goats, calves, lambs, pigs, ducklings, chickens, turkeys and rabbits. Our favourite animals were the rabbits. They were so cute.

We are very excited about the VT meet in Macedonia. AussieBarney and his shepherdess Marg (wise23girl) will be taking us with her as a Virtual Attendee and we are looking forward to hearing from them during their travels. We have already found out where Macedonia is on our map. Ireland actually played Macedonia a few weeks ago in football and Ireland won 2:1!!!

We go to school in Scoil Mhuire, Abbeyside, Co. Waterford in Ireland. We are lucky to live in such a beautiful place as we have lovely beaches, big mountains, waterfalls, rivers and woods nearby so there is always plenty to see and do.
Our school is very close to the sea and we have a lovely beach close to our school which we visit when the weather is good.

We really enjoy learning about other countries and places. So far this year we have learnt about New Zealand and the Maori people, Mexico (for its 200th birthday), India and China. On our travel map we have marked the places we have learnt about in green.
