"A day Zurich to Rapperswil Part 1" Zürich Travelogue by aussirose

Zürich Travel Guide: 1,924 reviews and 5,745 photos

I had heard from my vt friends that a day out on the ferry to Rapperswil was worth the hubby and I headed on down to the jetty at Burkliplatz to purchase our tickets. You do not need to book in advance.

We didn't have to wait long before this gorgeous looking boat arrived to take us to our destination.

We headed straight to the dining room and took our orders, then relaxed while the whistle blew and we were on our way.

Dorrise, Rexy, Hansi and Lori (my va's) also came along for the ride and views.

The foreshore was lined with flash yachts and buildings.

It reminded me of millionaire's row in Perth. Yes we have one of them too :o)

Boating on the Zurich lake is popular.

And every village we saw had it's own lovely clock.

The Zurich countryside is lovely. Obviously the nice natural untouched bits are fast disappearing....

But I was able to capture a small, quiet spot in between the villages along the foreshore.

It was a perfect day for sailboating with just the right amount of breeze.

As we neared Rapperswil the green countryside was gradually giving way to rolling hills.

Last Travelogue.
