"Evening Walk in Town" Annaberg-Buchholz Travelogue by Russell_the_Wombat

Annaberg-Buchholz Travel Guide: 60 reviews and 389 photos

One evening we did this walk of the old town, starting from our burrow next to the church. That church is too big to fit into one photo!

The entrance looks rather small, though. From the outside it looks rather plain but the interior is splendid.

Around the church there is a little square with a museum and some shops and restaurants.

Walking on those cobblestones was not easy for small wombat paws.

The sun was almost setting so there was not much daylight left in the streets. The steeple and some roofs were still shining.

A bit further, first up and then downhill. we found a bit of the old town wall. The slope here is very steep, but we were walking down, luckily.

This stone once marked the end of the town. The sign lists the places and distances further along the road. Some of these places are in the Czech Republic and have different names now. Karlsbad was on our schedule for a day trip.

This is Annaberg's main shopping street. The shops are already closed. Well this is a small town.

In the main square with the town hall, this time I am dry.
