"Seoul 2011" Seoul Travelogue by akikonomu

Honestly, I can't pinpoint the charm of the place. Seoul has become a very "functional" place for me - a easy destination to navigate, shop, eat and relax.

The locals remain charming since my first visit (6 or 7 years ago). I hope they don't change because I am happy when I interact with them. Happiness is an important quotient if you don't have the luxury of time to travel.

We slept in late, had slow meals at local establishments, our eyes glistening whenever we find a good place with cheap food. Then we trundle around at our own pace shopping, checking out places locals would visit during their free time.

Revisiting places we've been before and smiling at the changes or non-changes make our day. Simple pleasures for people who just want to chill out and perform brainless activities.

We had a lark of a time shopping since the summer apparels are suitable for our tropics. Seoul is now famous for being one of the most fashionable Asian cities and designs are ever changing.

We simply adored the cafes and boutiques that were family owned as they had a distinctive style of their own. I'm not quite sure of the sustainability but I hope the tourist money helps to keep them going - boring huge establishments do little to stimulate creativity.
