Basically farmland...mostly dairy country...but soy bean,wheat, and alfalfa is also grown here...

My Father's side of the family settled here in the late 1700's...we don't know much about them before they're arrival here in what was then considered Upper Canada.

My Mother's side of the family..they came here from Upper New York State after the American War of Independence...following the British to what was then "Lower Canada".

Mostly deer and smaller mammals..raccoons,skunk,birds of prey,hawks,eagles,and more so in the last few years,coyotes are making a big comeback I suppose related to a moratorium on hunting them.

Close to a farming community named Winchester,Ontario. In this part of the World...I use different sets of tires for my vehicle depending on the season.I store the off set at the farm where there's plenty of room in the loft of the barn.

Last year,I was making the trip to the farm to ditch my Summer tires and I spotted this guy on a fence post along the road.I pulled over and parked while he went through a variety of poses for me..and then I went on my way,a great birthday present whether he knew it or not..ok so maybe it was a she...Im not sure how to tell then apart..

Eastern Ontario offers a huge area where this can be seen...every year differs from one to the next..in terms of colour..but the region teems with deciduous forests.

When I can...I take of for the day...an old friend has bought a fixer upper close to Winchester,Ontario where he keeps horses and does his best to prevent Mother Earth from taking back the land...a constant battle..

I drive out...its about an hour from where I live in Ottawa...help with whatever is on his "list" that day, we sit when we feel like it..and watch the World go by..

Its a little bit of Peace and Sanity in this crazy modern World..
