One day in October when my American friend Gary was in town, we invited him over to our high school.
Actually he had seen our web site before. It was also his wish to be able to meet us in person.
He accepted the invitation and told us a lot about his state - Delaware.
Gary spent all morning at our school and met a lot of students at the lessons and after them.

Gary's story was great!

Everybody listened with great interest.
There were many questions.
Gary showed us some pictures about his hometown and his state.
No translation was neccessary.
Gary spoke in a low voice without haste. His speech was clear to the majority of students.

Some students wanted to introduce themselves, too.
The students wondered what Gary would think of their English.
It was a very good chance for them to have a native speaker assess their knowledge.

At the end of the lesson everybody stood up and I took a picture.

The students were thankful to me and to our guest speaker for the interesting talk.

For memory

Some students wanted to have a picture with Gary and me.
It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many of them to listen to an American guest.

We invited Gary to come and visit us again some day.
He said he would.

The students were very glad and happy!
