"Müllerthal - "Little Switzerland"" Luxembourg Travelogue by GrumpyDiver

The Müllerthal or in English the "Mueller Valley" is of obvious interest because of my surname. A beautiful valley in eastern Luxembourg is well worth visiting.

The pulpit

Some of the rocks that have interesting shapes are given names. This one is known as "The Pulpit".

The Amphitheatre

For rather obvious reasons, this formation is called the amphitheatre.

Millstone quarry

When you get into some of the caves, you can see where people had cut grinding stones for mills in the past. Round patterns where suitable stones have been cut out can be seen quite clearly.

Mix of seasons

The last remnants of winter ice, leaves still on the ground from last fall and the first hint of spring green all mix in this scene.

First sign of spring

A few ferns in the rocks show that spring has started to arrive.

Clefts in the rocks

Sometimes the path winds through narrow clefts in the rock.

Near the end of the hike

One final push up the hill and we get to come our final descent down to Luxembourg's oldest town, Echternach.
