Visiting my Dad and stepmother in South Africa. This is a wonderful place - the views from my Dad's house near the Valley of a Thousand Hills overlook hills and valleys to the Durban seafront. Also, as these are family visits, they are about relaxing and spending time with my family.

A bit of a cheat this. I visited Brighton on the south coast of England for my trade union's Health Conference. Still, away from Manchester and staying in a wonderful hotel!!

And its time for another VT EuroMeet. This time in Krakow, Poland and then on to L'viv, Ukraine. I finished off with the English Roses on a road trip which saw us go from Poland to Slovakia to the Czech Republic and back again in five days!! What a great time - with special thanks to Matt and Urszula for a very special EuroMeet!!!!

Time for a trip up to Edinburgh to visit VT friends and plan the trip to America in October! A lovely relaxing weekend with just a little bit of work stuck in the middle - and great times chatting and quaffing!

Time to get myself off to Chester to host a weekend VT Meet in honour of Tattugran's visit to the UK. Starting in the manner I did NOT intend to continue, we all met up at the Cafe at the Walls - which had ceased to trade so we wandered off along the wall towards the Roman Garden and Amphitheatre before stopping for a light lunch at the Visitor Centre cafe. Luckily, the day improved!

And its camping in North Wales with Myfanwe and a host of VTers from the North of England. Typically, the ladies put their tents up in the damp whilst DaveSut arrived just at the right time to get his tent up in the dry. It was a weekend that proved that you have to be prepared when holidaying in the UK - dry mornings and damp afternoons playing dodge 'ems with the rain clouds.

Ricky52's Meet in Halifax is turned into a gathering of the clan and VTers showing how a plan can still be pulled off, even in the harsh financial climate that some are enduring. A grand time had by all and thanks go to DaveSut and Suvanki for helping to hold this meet together!

Time to cross The Pond - something that's been an annual feature for a few years in a row. This time its to Long Island, Washington DC, Baltimore, Fredericksburg and Las Vegas. This trip encompassed two VT Meets - one in Baltimore for karaoke and crabs and then the second in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

As always, November saw the annual Christmas Market Meets in Manchester which I have now hosted for four years. Always a good opportunity to catch up with friends and enjoy some of the delights of the markets.
