There are many Las Vegases -- including several where people actually live -- but on "the strip" there are two easily seen. The grandiose thematic kitsch of the outsides of the casino-hotels and the INSIDE! [which is also grandiose thematic kitsch] |
PARIS: Inside & Out Next time I'm in Paris I'm going to look under Pont Alexander for slot machines. The outside is actually a nice post-modern collage of Paris icons. The inside is much less successful I think.
Caesars Palace: Inside & Inside! This one is pretty ugly outside -- which isn't to say tasteless inside. The Trojan Horse is part of the facade for the FAO Schwarz store in the forum shops.
| | You can dine under some rather excessive columnage at Bertolinis! |
THE MIRAGE: Inside & Out One of the highlights of the Mirage remains the tropical forest.
| | The Mirage at night is a spectacular view! [Taken from the Venetian] |

Thanks a lot for your great work and sharing! | KimberlyAnn Tue Nov 14, 2006 00:08 UTC Nice tips, it looks like the Venetian is a must. It is nice to see someone who isn't afraid to say the Ceasar's Palace is over blown---very helpful, think we will skip that one. | ATXtraveler Mon Aug 21, 2006 10:30 UTC Any clue what happened to Dr. Devito? |
