The chapels commissioned by King Duarte (1391 - 1438) for his pantheon were not an original part of the monastery.
Designed by Huguet and continued by Mateus Fernandes (monumental entrance door1509 andupper balcony 1533)
Joao de Castilho worked also on the chapel before it stopped
