More Personal VT Meetings

by Kakapo2 - last update: Apr 20, 2009

On 29 March 2009 Kimi (VT member Kimi_the_Bear) and I met up with VT member Marie-France from Canada in Christchurch.

Hubby took us up to the Summit Road by car, then we walked up to the Gondola, and all the way down to the seaside suburb of Sumner on the Crater Rim Walkway.

The photo above shows us at the Sign of the Takahe in the suburb of Cashmere from where you have a great view of the city.

The photo on the left shows us at the Sign of the Bellbird, a lookout along the Summit Road/Crater Rim Walkway, from where you have the best view of Lyttelton Harbour.

In 2008 I met up twice with Jen (VT member craic) in Wellington, while she was the Writer in Residence at Randell Cottage.

This photo shows her in front of her cottage in the suburb of Thorndon.

At another historic cottage near the Bolton Street Cemetery.

This one - Sexton's Cottage - is an asian artists' in residence place.

Jen in a dairy in Thorndon.

Jen at the Waterfront, posing with one of the plates of the Writers' Walk. There are so many poems hidden along the Waterfront. Even on my fifth visit within a year I discovered plates I had not seen before.

Tasting one or two of the many delicious ice-creams at "Kaffee Eis" Courtenay Place. (There is a second one at Frank Kitt Park at the Waterfront.) No Wellington visit without a scoop of this ice-cream ;-)

Howdy Sissi, Thank you kindly for visiting my Atlanta page, unfortunately the hubby didn't have enough time to see Margaret Mitchell quarters, but the Underground Atlanta has seen many Civil Rights movements.
