Beers found and Enjoyed in Siem Reap, Cambodia It always pains me when I 'discover' a new food, drink, or product of any kind abroad, only to come home and find it in my local US chain stores a few months down the road. However, I can still say that I have never seen these Cambodian Beers anywhere but in Seim Reap Cambodia...and I hope that's how it stays.
My favorite of those pictured? Black Panther.
Oh an the Anchor beer....the beer can with the anchors on the front of it... is not pronouced Anchor, like the heavy thing you drop off a boat... it's pronouced "Ann-Chore". That was the topic of much amusement to be sure. |
| | Beers in Australia Actually, I couldn't tell you what kind of beer this was (NOT FOSTERS) but I was drinking it outside the Sydney Opera House after having attended an actual Opera there...so I think it qualifies for this album.
However I will soon add my top 5 Australia Beers... just imagine one of them is in my mug! |
| | Weissbier at the Hofbrauhaus: Munich, Germany Touristy? For sure. But still, one of the most festive and enjoyable beer drinking establishments in the world! I enjoyed many a Hofbrau beer, pretzel, and song here. I think we were in Munich 2 days and came here 3 times.
eins zwei g'suffa!
To be honest, we visited so many beer halls in Munich in those two days I could dedicate a whole VT album just to that! Hmmm.... |
| | Drinking in Reykjavik, Iceland Have you ever been out for a night of drinking in Reykjavik? Maybe if you took a second mortgage on your house, or you were a lottery winner, right? It is EXPENSIVE to party there. (Well, it was in 2005...I don't know about now since their economy imploded). To remedy the expense of food and drink on the town, we hit up the local 7/11-type mart, known as the 10/11 actually, and bought ourselves a dinner of unusual Icelandic snacks and random beverages... while not Icelandic in origin, still did the trick. (Yes, I know Marzipan and Yellow Tail, etc., are not Icelandic, but when one travels about one tends to acrue a strange combination of snacks on the way...) As for the beer in this beer picture, you'll see a Tuborg Pilsner in the lineup back there. |
| | Gorkha Beer in Chitwan National Park, NEPAL Although they were being drunk in Tuborg and San Miguel mugs, these are the Gorkha beers we enjoyed on the banks of the Rapti River in Nepal. It was wonderful to watch the sunset over the river and enjoy these cold beers while the bottles were sweating as much as we were! |
