"Acute shortage of electricity" Nepal Travelogue by lahoree

This mini lantern was my darling during nights in Nepal. To pay tribute to it on my last night, I took a photo of it while walking in a totally dark street leading to my hotel. Yes Nepal is facing acute electricity shortage for a minimum of 16 hours. In order to charge my gadgets, I usually handed over to the hotel reception and they charged it from their UPS. But I still enjoyed the situation; after all we travel to feel changes.

This restaurant was the best in terms of food quality and taste. They have just turned on an energy saver light above my table.

This stair leads to the restaurant on first floor. Can you see a burning candle? Because of darkness, I was afraid of going up to that restaurant for a couple of days; then armed with my lantern, I was at last sitting in the restaurant where I enjoyed best dinner in town.

It’s not candle light dinner, its candle light early morning breakfast. Can’t believe; look at the windows in the background.
