Behold! A Landshark! Fins Up! I decked my car out a few days before Buffett graced Cincinnati in July 2008. It was great to see the looks from people, everywhere we took my Landshark! We made a giant silver fin for the sunroof, too, and several small fins to stake into the grass in front of the car. Cool thing is, the metallic silver paint matched my car's paint so well, I used it to re-spray the bottom of my front bumper which has started peeling due to age. This year, I've added a new bumper sticker ("I'd rather be at a JIMMY BUFFETT concert"), and a vinyl decal on my back window that was custom-made to say "got landshark?". |
With the very, very very tall Chiquita girls! Back at Jen & Co.'s camping site! We met Jen and Company (Weasel, Bobby and a smattering of other very cool peeps) during Buffett 2007. We grew to be great friends with the fellow Parrotheads and spend great times with them at the campsite! |
The couple from Erlanger who had Jello shots! They offered us sweltering, melting phans some very tasty Jello shots. See that inflatable parrot they had hanging from their canopy? I almost got my arse kicked over one of those. I brought my own blow-up parrot, of course, and while dancing in the lawn, an alcohol-fueled lady insisted "that is MY parrot". My almost-fought-over parrot is hanging in the garage, awaiting it's return to Buffett's Parrothead Convention on Kellogg Avenue 2009. |

Staying cool under the tent in the camping area This year we're going to be smart and 1. bring a small inflatable pool and several 5 gallon jugs to fill it with and 2. bring a pop-up canopy because we got oh-so burned last year! |

Posing with other Parrotheads! This was juuuust about 'gate opening time' (6pm on Buffett Day), and the phans were all getting riled to go see Jimmy! Me and these fellas were videotaped showing our flair and dancing abilities during Jimmy's "Volcano" at the concert. |
A day-long, fun-filled day of "Escapism" The Parrothead phrase was coined right here in Cincinnati. No small wonder that people take several days off of work and plan months in advance for this daylong festival of fins, phans, rum, pirates and friends!!! This is my awesome hubby, who I have wholeheartedly converted into a Parrothead (he used to HATE anything even remotely similar to 'country', and Jimmy is sort of 'tropical country' sounding)... bowing down to a gal with a Captain Morgan shirt! He adores Captain Morgan, so much so that we decorated our bar with the Captain (and my love, Guinness... and of course... Jimmy Buffett). She walked by, he broke out his gallon of Morgan, and worshipped her. Very cool! |
