One of the many footlong (and then some) icicles melting into giant daggers!

2009's ice storm caused a lot of power outages... but set us up for some lovely pictures.

Every ten years it seems Cincinnati gets hit with a 12inch + snowstorm. This one, like others before it, was a "surprise" (got to love our weatherpeople around these parts). We loved every minute of it! Snowed in, watching the kids play, trying to get our 8 inch high Cairn to pee in 12 inch deep snow...

Barney, our little Cairn, trying to find some semblance of normalcy to relieve himself. He hates, hates, hates snow & rain. He also hates really hot weather or really cold weather. Kinda a fair-weather doggie?

Our street, around 4pm the day-after the big snowstorm of 2008. Our roads weren't touched, but our neighbor (who has a thing for big machines) did try to plow during the snowfall. It was fun to watch people actually be careful on the long, straight hill vs. flying by 100+ mph.

Jeff took this from the inside of the house with the window open. This was the 2009 storm. First it snowed, then ice, then snow, then ice again. The result made for very thick, crunchy snow which was perfect for sledding! But not driving... no way, no how... learnt my lesson on that one years back! This is one of my favorite pictures of the many he took that day.
