I take door knocker photographs for a long time. I prefer lady-hand shaped door knockers. These collection from my homecity Izmir-Turkey. In my childhood, there was a brass door knocker at my grandma&grandpa's house at Izmir. from those days I always enthusiastic about door knockers especially lady-hand shaped knockers. Here we go... :)

In Bitola I had great time by taking photographs of this beautiful city. Eventually city offered me those door knockers as a surprise:)

Milas is a town which is close to Bodrum and it is famous for its historical houses. It means Milas has more door knockers for my collection :)

And lovely Cyprus... Cyprus is one of my top destination for photographing. These door knockers of Nicosia from Northern Cyprus and from Arabahmet district.

I found only one lady-hand shaped door knocker at Corum. Actually it was surprising to me because I didnt know anything about the city 's door knocker tradition. Anyway it is a good sample.

As you see it is not an original door. It is an art work but it shows the traditional door design and door knockers in Mostar. Door knocker is typical Ottoman-Turkish door knocker which is very common in Turkey. You can see originials in Safranbolu, Kula, Tokat etc in Turkey. This kind of door knockers can be use as a door handle as well.

This is my latest discover at Buyukada. The pair of door knockers are the biggest lady hand shaped door knockers I've ever seen. I found two lady hand shaped door knockers on the same door. It was exciting surprise to me from this beautiful Island of Istanbul.
