Finding the little critters These three girls are looking for jakkajaan without the usual net because they're actually our masseuses, who'd been giving us a massage on the beach, so they weren't prepared for jakkajaan "hunting". Normally a net is pushed into the sand at the water's edge to pick up the "sea grasshoppers" or "sea cicadas", as they're known as the waves pull back. |
| | The Jakkajaan up close So, this is what they look like. |
| | Finished product This is a dish of cooked Jakkajaan. Very, very delicious! Similar to prawns I guess.
Make sure you try some if you can. |

Malaria you get from the anopheles (brownish) night-biting mosquito. | BruceDunning Thu Aug 20, 2009 23:11 UTC The more I read and see about this country, the more I would like a visit. Just wish it was some thousands of miles closer. Nice job of presenting the beauty, and have a good life with the sunbear. |
