In December 2008 Kimi (Kimi_the_Bear) and I met up with VT members Juan and Mercedes (elpariente) and Juan's sister Nieves in Christchurch. I took them to the seaside suburb of Sumner, then we drove along the Summit Road, enjoyed the views of Lyttelton Harbour, Banks Peninsula and the city, had coffee at the Gondola summit station, had another view of the city from the Sign of the Takahe. Later we met up again in the Botanic Garden. One little thing I liked a lot was Juan taking notes of everything and writing down place names and technical terms, the names of plants, etc. As a journalist I consider it essential to spell names correctly, so you do not look like a fool when insiders read it ;-)
On the photo above we are all sitting at the lookout at the Pioneer Women's Memorial, high above Lyttelton.
