along with minus temps!! An excellent combination!

so for the first time I got caught up in the transportation issues ie the place was totally swamped with snow and not one singles public bus or train on either overground or underground lines were running!!

The taxi waiting time for any hope of getting to work was 2 hours 35 minutes! So I didnt go to work!

There was a bit of a public grumble in the papers about the lack of grit that was put about the place, especially walkways, and even the next evening on Tuesday when I was out and about in busy nearby Putney, I found the footpaths rather dangerous! - and not a bit of grit to be seen!

Wednesday morning when the snow was even more becoming thick ice and I was rushing for a 5am bus to get to the train to the airport for an early flight the footpaths were a nightmare! Complete areas of thick, very slippery, dangerous ice - and I had one tail up and knee down with a wallop which was one episode enough - and had to run down the narrowed main road to the bus stop - and did the bus that was coming but I couldnt get to the busstop quick enough wait for me - NO! - of course not! So I had to pick and choose my path all the way down about 300 metres of ongoing ice covered footpath to the next bus stop!

Apparently those that had got in to work or were at work were unable to leave that day and all had to work and stay in the hospital overnight! So lucky me - not being able to get there in the first place?!

Apparently the mayor for London, Boris Johnson, 'didnt know' for 6 hours that the entire transportation for London had completely shut down and this was all despite weather warnings ages before!

The fun we had that day with snow in London!
