It doesn't snow properly very often in much of England.
I can only remember two really long-lasting, deep snowfalls in my lifetime.
As a teacher for many decades, I can count the number of 'snow days' (when schools are closed because of transport difficulties) I have had on one hand.
Heavy snow does make England grind to a halt, I'm afraid. We aren't prepared for it because it doesn't usually happen (especially from the Midlands southwards).
No work for me today, so a long walk down a country lane to the supermarket seemed a good idea.
And it was. |

I was fabulous and unique rock formations, and remote places. | RoscoeGregg Sun Nov 8, 2009 16:25 UTC Thanks For your kind comment. I am all over the Gelato situation. What to do first? How much gelato can I have before the heart attack? | Grazina Fri Nov 6, 2009 09:42 UTC Hey thanks for the b-day wishes. Ciao. |
