My ABC-TV Nightline program debut! UPDATE #2-Did anyone see me on ABC-TV's Nightline program on December 15, 2008? For all the inquiries I have received asking about what happened...here's a synopsis.
I had my 3 minutes of 'fame"--lol and my caricaturist Keelan Parham did another wonderful cartoon of me taking on "the Banks & Credit Card companies".
My ABC Nightline TV program started because of a letter I sent to Chase Bank. I also copied it to my two Florida U.S .Senators, USA Today and the Wall Street Journal. I’m just so tired of reading all those bailout stories in the media and news.
I really didn’t care that Chase had closed a credit card account on me because I had not used it in several years anyway. But a week after they closed it I received two separate sets of credit card checks to use against that closed account. That really set me off.
I knew if I had used one of those checks, Chase would not have honored it and they would have assessed me a $39.00 fee according to the “fine print” on the back of the checks. In addition, the creditor who I sent one of those checks to would have charged me for a return check fee, plus assess me a late charge because THEIR account would now be past due.
How many people don’t pay attention to things like that and then get caught in the “fee” scam and think that THEY did something wrong? I believe it’s entrapment.
I did some checking and discovered that those credit card checks come from a marketing departing and it takes Chase about 90 days to stop them. That is a direct quote from the office of Gordon Smith, CEO. Yeah, right! I think it’s just a racket to earn additional fees.
The American public is no longer a customer to these automotive giants, mortgage companies and banking corporations. We've become "profit centers” and a “commodity " to them.
Then they all have the nerve to ask the government for money because they have incompetent management who has made some very poor business decisions!
If I make a bad business decision, then I lose clients and my business goes bust. No one is going to give me a hand-out, or even a LOAN for a second chance.
In a nutshell, to use a movie quote… I’m “mad as hell and not going to take it anymore”.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Now you can understand the caricature. |
