The book tells us the story of a delegate of 15 Turks to Hungary between the days April 20th- May 18th 1877 just before the Turco-Russian War of 1877-78. Gazi Abdulkerim Pasha defeated the revolting Serbians at the battle of Aleksinac on Oct. 29th 1876. This victory coused a great pleasure at Hungary. Many nationalist Hungarians who were againts the ruling regime of Habsburg organized meetings in Budapest for jubeling the Turkish victory. They were also againts Serbs. The Hungarian Nationalists decided to send a delegation to Istanbul and to present a precious sword to Gazi Abdulkerim Pasha as a symbol of Hungarian friendship. In order to return this present sultan Abdulhamid returned precious 35 hand written Hungarian books to Hungary which was in the library of Istanbul since 1541. The books were presented to Hungary by a Turkish delegation. The book tells us how Turks were greeted and hosted in Hungary. The writer of the book is Mehmet Tevfik Efendi who is well known as "Caylak" (Kite) because of his magazine called "Caylak" Caylak is the first Turkish magazine of Jokes.
