20081213 Dona Faustina Clubhouse & Golden Acres It all started with a post on the annual VT Christmas Party. Then ideas poured in. That were translated into action. And gave birth to the name VT Pilipinas. With its own identity captured in a truly Filipino logo - the Philippine jeepney.
Today, they all came into fruition. The sky was clear providing a good beginning for VT Pilipinas' first outreach program.
With able support from local and foreign VTers, we visited the Golden Acres home for the aged and brought with us food, gifts, flowers, and other necessities. We were assigned Sta. Lucia women's ward composed of 70+ "lolas", some mobile, some not, and some bed-ridden. |

| | Take A Deep Breath While waiting for the cue to start the feeding and gift-giving, we were trying to psyche ourselves and prepare for a potential emotionally-draining encounter. On the foreground are part of the items we brought for the lolos and lolas. |
| | Can't Help It! Picture-taking within the seniors' quarters is prohibited by the Center. Well, they certainly "underestimated" the determination of VT Pilipinas... we can't be stopped!
Lest we be misunderstood, we took pictures not as "props" or to show off what we had done, but as a "reminder" to us that a good deed transcends race, culture, religion, age, gender. |
| | It's Time to Party That's Scarlet trying to pin the VT flag on the wall.
Thanks to VT HQ for sending us the flag along with luggage tags and stickers that served as give-aways to all attendees.

| | Food Galore As in previous years, pot luck it was. Each member brought something to the party, from appetizer to entree to dessert including soda, beer and wine.
This year, due to violent threats from Manila-based VTers, Carlito (from Davao) shipped 46 kilos of pomelos, thanks Kuya! |
| | For Posterity Sake Lili bought fresh Tuna just 2 hours before the party. As expected, some grilling needed to be done, not necessarily by her though.
Actually, she was just coerced by Aimees to pose infront of the "fire" which we will send to Victor. |
