| Patches protecting favourite ball |
Patches came to us from off a farm in Jamestown, Adelaide. She was a bundle of black fluff and so cute!
This is a special travelogue in memory of our dear Patchy who passed away from cancer at the age of 14 in September 2008. |
| Patches & bob tail lizard |
| |
Being a Border Collie cross Kelpie, Patchy loved to round up other dogs like a true sheep dog and always had an air of authority when it came to showing who is the boss :o) So when we took her for walks we had to keep her on a leash or she would round up every dog in sight and instigate a fight.
However with other animals such as this bob tail lizard, she was curious but seemed to have a cleaver non-threat doggy sense.

| Patches plays fetch the ball in the surf |
| | Being a ball lover, Patchy just loved playing ball as many vt'ers who have come to our house can testify. Once you threw a ball for Patches, then you were her friend for life! And she would bring it back for more and bark until you threw it again. :o) Patchy had a ball for every occasion......and as soon as anyone ventured outside, she would round one up and drop it at your feet for a game :o)
Patchy didn't like the water & hated baths.....so we had to lure her into the surf with.....yeah you guessed it ...... ;o) |
| Patchy giving Janine a cuddle |
| |
Even though Patchy was the boss of other dogs, she just loved people....especially kids. Kids meant games!.....and she was always up for any game :o)
......and we couldn't resist that cute 'play with me' look ;o)

This is the first time I saw my Patchie go 'Yuuuuk!'
And no wonder!.......The lobsters were still alive & their claws were snapping.

| |
We lived near the beach. You can actually see the cream stone wall of our house in the middle, right hand side of this pic.
Whenever we ventured down to the beach, Patchy, being part of the family came too. Of course she had to be in front!.....so here she is pulling hubby along, trying to get in front of Jesse :o)

| Patches & Shirene on Ocean Reef beach |
| |
And of course our Patches loved to welcome any vt'er that we brought home. :o)
Yep, that's patchy and Shirene (appleseed81) from Singapore.

Dear Patchy.... I will forever hold you in my heart.
Rest in peace :o)
