I often get the question (read; I get the question from Americans), "are you a starwar fan?". I usually answer (trying to tease), "that guy from star trek in that American movie??" Then they procede to explain the finer differences between star trek and star wars. I then proceed devilishly to tell them that all that fancy blinking stuff is unknown over in our culture...

I am of course just as evil as the good Darth Vador (with one a).
My apologies to any American I have offended, as my teasing is not meant to be evil

I am a big fan of Star Trek, and I have seen some of the Star Wars movies.

The best part about Darth Vador was the voice of James-Earl Jones. In my opinion one of the US's best character actors.

But seriously: Darth Vador uses only one "a".
My VT id has the more correct two "a's", daarth
daarth is made up by the two first letters in my three names.

Just like Obama, I am of mixed blood from many countries. Most of it is German through my American mother. there I can document my linage back to the year 1324.
I am also partly Danish and Icelandic. And my Icelandic heritage can be traced back to about the year 1000 and the Norwegian king Olaf Trygvasson.
I live in Norway, and my family is Norwegian, though I have decided to keep my inherited Icelandic citizenship. There are after all so few of them....
It has no practical consequence as the Nordic countries have an agreement that gives Nordic citizens equal rights in all the Nordic countries.

At the moment my daughter is very fascinated by her Icelandic heritage, and has the last two years used part of her school vacation in Iceland. We also have an Icelandic horse.

One of my passions is sailing, and I have had a few adventures crossing the North Sea.

You can call me daarth or you can call me david. My daarth id is from January 2001, but I have been on VT several years more than that. The first time I stumbled over VT, it was a small site with a small community that fascinated me. I entered a link to VT on my personal site, and came back now and then to check on this fascinating site. With the daarth id I became more active, and since then it has been a pleasure to observe the evolution of VT.
