Mom was born on November 17 1925 in Hanau, Germany. She married my dad in 1950 and I was born in 1961, her only child. Mom loved travelling and was very fond of Italy and Austria and later on Canada as well. She was a wonderful mom,always there for me and it meant a lot to me when she witnessed the birth of my son, her only grandchild in 1991. Being continents apart was not easy for her but we called each other often. It was a huge blow when i received the phone call I had always dreaded; mom broke down on December 8. 2007 and my life would never be he same again. An emergency visit followed and we spent our x-mas in the ICU, praying she would recover from her pulmonary embolism. More complications followed the liver and kidneys not working properly but we saw a ray of hope when she was transferred to a physio place. Mom fought hard but yet since she lost a lot of functions her next stay was at a nursing home . I had hoped to be there for her again in July but it wasn't to be..Due to c. difficile and other problems she gave up her brave fight on April 28th..i miss her terribly but i know she is in good hands and at least she doesn't have to suffer anymore..

I read this psalm at her Memorial service as this was meaningful to us. First of all this psalm is of great comfort but it was also hanging over mom's hospital bed
