Always, always take a couple of trips to the local supermarkets. The number of times I have chanced on that elusive ingredient for a dish that I have wanted to make I cant tell you. But not only that, its educational as well.

When I am in Canada I stock up on some spices that cannot be obtained in Australia.

Also, the number of times I have stocked up on items that can be bought at home, but where you are they are a fraction of the cost. ie in KK recently I came across Tabasco Sauce at a fraction of the price I pay at home, and the same brand as well.

As long as the items you buy are spices, sauces, or tinned goods, and all are in their undisturbed origional packaging, you should not have any trouble when you get home with quarantine.
