Kruger National Park-A Family Reunion.

by lynnehamman - last update: Nov 20, 2008

A Dedication to my late Mother-in-Law.

Mom & Richard- The last photo together
Having just made a page with tips on the Park, I decided that I had to upload a few more pictures I had taken- Visit my page if you want more information on the park. Kruger National park

My husbands mother, after spending only one day with us all at this long awaited family reunion, sadly passed away on the second day of our stay. She had seen all her beloved children and grand-children together after many years. -it was her dearest wish. The above photo was the night before she passed away
Richard and Dad, Kruger Park
My father-in-law,stunned as we all were, decided that we should stay awhile- much logistical planning had been undertaken in gathering the family together from different parts of the world. So we had a very poignant week-happy to be together, but sad at our bereavment.

The Birthday Dinner

The occasion for this reunion had been the 50th Birthday of Richards brother Christopher. On our last night at the park, we finally had the birthday dinner. We drank a toast to Chris- and Mom.
Everyone was very sad, as you can imagine. We knew that Mom was there in spirit, watching over her family as she always did.

Magnificent Sunset

The night after Mom passed away, we all gathered on our balcony, and just sat and watched the sun setting. It was particuarly beautiful that evening. The sun was setting also on a beautiful life that had just passed on.

More Animal Photos

These next three photos were taken on the day we arrived, and the only time that Mom managed to come out with us on a drive. I will never forget the happy and contented look that she had on her face that day.Little did we guess what sadness the next day would bring.

Thank you Lynne for visiting my Atlanta page. Hubby enjoyed visiting the area, but at times it was unnerving for him. He is very much a country boy! Have a lovely day and hope Boris is feeling better.

Thanks for your visit to the boats of Conflans, Lynne. It is nice sometimes to be far from the big city, and yes, me too, I dreamt of living on such a boat.
