Plants and Birds in Krabi

by GracesTrips - last update: Oct 30, 2008

Okay, so this goose isn't really considered natural wildlife in Krabi but I wonder how it got to Chicken Island and why does it hang out and stay? And, why hasn't someone eaten this plump fowl?

Our snorkel tour provided lunch. So, we stopped off on a beach at Chicken Island where this goose was hanging out. He was hungry and wouldn't just eat anything, he liked rice! Our snorkel guide kept shooing him away and at one point the goose threw a tantrum. Anyway, my boyfriend wanted to take a photo of him and he seemed very curious about his camera. I snapped this shot quickly and find it humerous.

These flowers are prevalent all over Krabi.

Don't ask me what kind of flower this is but I found it very beautiful with it's deep burgundy color.

This bird is very much like our white egrets we have in SoCal except in Krabi they are gray in color.

Bird hanging out for scraps at breakfast.

Okay, not a bird or a flower but frogs were out and about after the rain.

If you get a chance to have some green coconut, you should! The coconut meat is very soft and creamy unlike the brown, hairy coconuts we have at our local supermarket that are chewy and tough.
