Railay Beach West

by GracesTrips - last update: Aug 30, 2009

I took a lot of beautiful photos of Railay but to tell you the truth, I don't think the photos do it justice on how beautiful Railay really is to see it in person. The photos don't capture the sounds, the warmth of the air caressing your skin, the slight breeze that feels good on your face and the fresh smell of the beach. You just have to go and experience it.

The water is clear and really warm, like bath water.

Tiny crabs are all over the beach. They are the same color as the sand and are not visible at first glance. As you walk by, you see a flurry of scurrying going on. The crabs dig down into the sand and as they bring up balls of sand up to the surface, a beautiful pattern of balls are all over the beach. This is short lived, of course, as the tide comes in and wipes it all away.

Upon arrival to our resort, the first thing I did was put on my bathing suit, grabbed my camera and headed straight for the water and snapped this photo. The water was amazingly warm and clean. After seeing the beach in Ao Nang and even Phranang Beach, Railay Beach West looked the best. They say Phranang Beach is the best beach but there were lots of people there and I thought the water looked very green. Actually, the beaches on the islands were just absolutely beautiful with it's clear, clean water.

This was a little shopping area (and I mean little) with a few bars/restaurants at the entrance of it.

The day we arrived, the Sand and Sea Resort staff (wearing red) had a soccer match against the resort staff of the Rayavadee Resort. Fun!

Guests of Railay hanging out with a drink in their hand, waiting to see the sun set for the day.
